Sledding at Grandpa's

Jan 17, 01:59 PM

We went out to Dad’s for a family dinner, while we were in Cd’A for new years. Scrap thought it would be fun if we took the kids sledding, so he and Ann brought out sleds and we headed out.

We dug out a couple of old runner sleds from the Barn; got the kids all bundled up, and headed up to the “Big Hill.” (Which indecently seemed way, way bigger when I was much, much smaller)

The snow/ice was perfect for sledding. It was fast and the banks were soft. I went down with Breyson a couple of times on the old runner sled and we were cruising. Breys and I got a running start once got going too fast, too top heavy, and crashed – we slid down the hill about 40ft on our backs. It was great!

We had lots of fun. And it was very cool to be able to share a little picture of my childhood with my children. It was weird to think not that long ago, those bundled up little kids were me and Scrap. What a blessing.
