A Sunday to Remember
Jun 23, 09:27 AM
Last night at around 5:30 pm Broc and I got into the truck and headed out to a place that we can never go back from. A place that just a couple of months ago was so far away. A place that even now seems surreal, like it never really happened. At about a quarter to six, I said good by to my little boy, walked thorough an empty church, got in my truck and drove home – by myself.
Nice intro – that may have been a little over dramatic, but there was a very weird, uncomfortable feeling involved with dropping Broc off for Youth Group. He’s not old enough for youth group. He’s not old enough to go to church by himself. But there I was sitting in my truck, by myself, as Broc sat in the church, worshiping with a band of his buddies. And sitting in a bible study, strictly for him and his friends.
It is exciting, that Broc has a desire to go to stuff like this. I know I would of hated it, and if I would of went it was purely because I had to. But Broc actually asked me if he could go. I’m stoked for our church and for what Bryan is doing with the kids, I think it is really cool that the kids there – regardless of age, school, ..whatever – have fun together, and it is a place my son wants to be.
So, as weird as it was to look at my wife at 7:30 and say the words, “I have to go pick up Broc from church.” I look forward to saying those same words many, many, more times.
Awesome! God is so faihful!

It is powerful stuff when the little men and women in our lives start flexing their independence. Thanks for sharing this personal moment with us.
